The recent supreme court ruling on the Americans with Disabilities Act has the corporate dizians of Tromaville's largest corporation, Smogulosoft, rejoicing!...Why you ask??...Because they can now return to playing their favorite lunch hour game, BEAT THE FREAK! This rip roaring game pits 4 corporate strong men against their developmentally challenged janitor, Melvin Junko, in a test of skill and agility. Melvin, crippled at birth by the dreaded Tromoebola virus, has been destined to live out his life as a nerdy janitor. However, now that Melvin's condition has been ruled treatable, the lunch time hijinks at Smogulosoft can begin anew! And Melvin Junko can once again know that warm feeling of acceptance that can only be felt by being beaten sensless with aluminium baseball bats!

But wait! What's this?! Toxic Waste in the Beat the Freak arena? What is Melvin up to? Might he posses a secret weapon? Something that will let him finally get some pay back for his countless hours of torment and suffering? Play and find out!

GAME PLAY:

Beat the Freak is a multiplayer online rampage written entirely in JAVA! The basic game is played with 5 players, if fewer than 5 people wish to play you can force start the game and the computer will control the other characters. Player identities will be randomly assigned at the start of each level.

There are 5 characters in the game, 4 corporate lackys and Melvin the Janitor. Melvin doesn't actually understand that he's playing a game, he's just trying to mop up all the blood that happens to be on the floor.

Four players control each of the four Corporate Strong Men. Their goal is to Beat the shit out of Melvin with their Tromaville Slugger aluminum baseball bats. The more times you hit Melvin the more points you get and more blood gets on the floor, so Melvin has to mop it up again! You can hit your corporate buddies too...but why would you want to? Move the character with the arrow keys, press the space bar to "use" your bat.

One player controls Melvin, move Melvin using the arrow keys, mopping up the blood on the floor. If you mop up all the blood you win that level and get to move on to the next room. If you hit one of the toxic waste barrels, you turn into the Toxic Avenger for a short time and are able to rip apart the corporate guys. Press the space bar to make Toxie use his mop.

Taunt Key: you can press the F key to broadcast a random insult to your game mates.

Message Send: you can press the M key to send a typed message to everyone else in the game.

Esc Key: quits you from the game...the computer will take over your character.
